Sony D211 Discman not reading discs

I am new to attempting to service my Sony D211 Discman. After some reading I found that a faulty Laser could cause the problem that I have of the player spinning the disc displaying 00 but then not reading the disc and shutting down. I bought a replacement Laser assembly but still it doesn't work. I understand that the capacitors can be a problem. Question 1 could bad capacitors cause it not to read the disc? Question 2 If so , do I need to replace all the electrolytics or are there specific ones to replace?
Any help would be gratefully received.
Kind RegardsPressy.

Usually a laser like the KSS331 in your player seldom has issue. Yes, all SMT caps on the PCB should be replaced with same value caps.

Thankyou for your advice. It seems a large task to replace all the capacitors. Is that electrolytics and all the other types? I may sound alittle silly but do all of them fail after time?
I apologise for my ignorance but I thought electrolytics were the main culprits.
Kind Regards
