Philips/Magnavox D6800 restoration

There are very few things guaranteed in life: death, taxes, rain at your barbecue party... and dead Philips D6800 :o
I was warned about this by another Discman lover here, but could not resist bying D6800 in perfect working condition. As promised, sled gear (thoroughly checked and relubed upon Discman arrival) crumbled after a single play:

better view of this horror:

I bought the substitute part here: https://www.shapeways.com/product/KUZ888QNL/gear-2

Another restored Beast for my collection:

more info on the subject is at square-2.com, I decided not to waste Kaosun space on my ramblings :)

If you know of any other Philips models with the same gear, please post here.

The gear you bought fit your your D6800? Just curious.

Yes, that part is an exact 3-D printed copy of the original gear.

Here is another Discman "saved" by 3D-printed sled gears. Loewe CD-100

Great! I guess the gears are printed by Form2 made by FormLabs.
