Hi Kaosun and everyone.
I wanted to try and fix a broken kenwood dpc-80 that I bought a long time ago. I opened it up thinking that maybe I could fix it by replacing the condenser, but the leak was so bad that there was serious erosion of the board, so I gave up.
But something really puzzled me, so I asked: I know this unit uses a BB PCM66 as a DAC, but the mine has the wrong chip in the DAC. There are only 16 DIPs on this chip compared to 20 on the PCM66. I looked at the service manual and there is no indication that the DAC might have been changed.
The picture shows a chip called NEC D6372, is this replacement that Kenwood did decide? Or is it the work of the person who sold me this unit?
