Need your advice: I managed to revive mint-looking BSR CCD-01 by replacing all leaking caps and it worked fine, with some intermittent problem of CD spindle failing to start. I did not notice that the problem was with the puck getting stuck (just a 5 sec fix) and went into replacing the motor and while doing so I applied 2-3V to the spindle while it was still CONNECTED to the board. Now the spindle is dead, no power coming to it. Could it be that I fried BA6280AF by applying 3V to the "out" pins 16 & 18? It has two of these for a driver, the burned one (my guess) is on the other side of the board. BTW, do you have SM for this BSR?

The motor drive circuit of BA6280 is used also in TOSHIBA P20. Pls download it here and take a look. The classic P20/21/22 have lots of siblings. BSR is one of them. Your motor test won't damage the BA6280. It might be something else.

The output of the BA6280 is one pair of 18&20, the other pair of 14&16. Why you connect external power 3V to 16&18?

thats how I traced it, most probably my bad!
This once, instead of throwing this BSR into the garbage bin, I bought another dead BSR off eBay. Mix and match produced one perfectly working BSR! I've also learned in the process that while exchanging the motor I must have burned the laser. No laser at startup - spindle won't even start, I totally forgot this...
The main reason I bought this player was to figure out who in Japan developed and made it for BSR. I think it was Toshiba, today I will try put this player into Kaosun's "PCDP component composition table"

Yes, it's TOSHIBA. The laser is compatible with all lasers used in P20, P21, P22.
