Sony D777: spindle motor replacement

I am in search of a replacement spindle motor for my D777. However, I am not completelly sure if the motor needs replacement at all. When the CD is stationary (not rotating), the spindle and CD can wooble a lot if I wiggle it with my finger. But when the CD is spinning, it woobles nothing at all. From time to time, the players skips once or twice for no apparent reason, or it takes a little longer than normal to read certain CDs. Hence my theory that the motor might be worn out.

However, I also noticed that the D777 uses a flat BLDC motor which I have never seen in other players. Any idea if there are other models using the same motor? Or even better, do you know if the motor can be found online somewhere? I had little luck finding information about the motor itself, even less finding compatible replacements.

It's hard to find that motor. How about place your ESP ON instead?

I have scouted the web for that motor, and I have even searched for other models that might use the same one, but I have had no luck.

I can of course use the player with the ESP, but how would that help? You mean to use the ESP to compensate any skipping?

Before you replace that motor, only ESP can help the skipping.
