Hi. I’m an electronics hobbyist, trying to fix my Discman D-15. Can somebody help?
The left audio from the headphone jack is very, very low. You can barely hear it.
The right headphone audio, and line-out audio work fine. Mechanically the CD player functions very well.

I’ve been studying the service manual, and my first suspicion was that the capacitor C109 was faulty. Since I did not have a replacement, I swapped it with C209. The result was the same, still no left audio.

Can somebody tell me where else I should inspect. Since the line-out works fine, I suspected a problem on the circuit that I highlighted in orange on the attached jpg. Is that not necessarily the case? Please help
Thank you.

I suggest you check/replace the volume potentiometer. Otherwise, you can replace the M51568 for a try. The external components are rarely broken.
