Hello all.

On my D-555, when I start playing a disc or hit stop, the sled "bonks" against the home position several times. It will eventually spin up and play the disc. I assume the home switch (LS, part S701 on the schematic) is failing. Is there any information on this switch, how to remove it for repair or replacement, and where to get the part if so?

Thanks!

The model of the switch is Panasonic ESE11SF1A if you need it.
First, you'll measure whether it's a switch issue? Like due to oxidize inside of the switch, even you press it, it could not short the terminals.
Second, it might be a circuit issue but very rare, you'll measure the supply voltage of CXA1082 pin37 whether you can get 3.5V?

I measured that the switch is not going rapidly to 0V but is rather "fading" as I press it, almost like a potentiometer, there is no sharp transition to 0V. I will doublecheck the supply as well, to be sure it is outputting 3.5V.

Thank you for the switch model. Is there a way to open these and clean them?

Do not try to open, you can add a little liquid oil from the gap into it and press it dozens of times, then try again.  Post time 2024-09-11 10:17
