Hey folks, I do need some help with my Kenwood DPC-7 Discman.
It was great than I found the Service Manual here at the forum - this is a big step in the right direction, but still the "action" my Discman is doing is strange.
Here a discription of status:
If hooked up to (correct) Power supply fit nothing happens - no reaktion at all. After switching the unit on and off again and again the display sligtly appears (but not full as it should) and the CD begins to spin but stops after a fwe seconds. "disc" appears in the display.
With this "procedure" I got the Kenwood playing a couple of times. This means it found the tracks and plays the tracks on the CD - the sound is distored and not very powerful. But he stops playing after 1 or 2 tracks. again display is off.
Preety clear something with the power supply is not OK. Where should I start looking and make measurements to find the problem!?
I do have all equipment needed for this and do normally repairs for vintage gear like amps, TT and so on.
The Discman is pretty complex and maybe someone here can give me a hint how to get started!
I do have an other Kenwood Discman (DCP-80) which is running good and of course I like to get the DPC-7 back to life because it´s a great unit and not totally dead!
Thanx for your advices!
